In the afternoon of December the 4th, 2008, being invited by vice president Mr. Liu Chunping, Mr. Xu Qian, vice editor in chief of Engineering Investigation and editor Sun Weifeng, came to our school to attend an exchange meeting called “Composition of Scientific Essays”, more than thirty teachers from all the departments attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Mr.  Liu Chunping.

        During the meeting, vice editor in chief Xu Qian at first introduced the detailed requirement of different columns towards the articles, in the mean time he stated the key points that should be paid attention to in writing. Then editor Sun Weifeng introduced the journal’s requirement for scripts, the genre of essays that will be published first, and made explanation of the process of schooling scripts and adopting standards.

        The teachers who attended the meeting listened to the two experts’introduction carefully, and actively asked their own questions. The two experts carefully listened to everyone’s opinions and made answers.

        At last, Mr. Liu Chunping made a summary. He hoped that this meeting would deepen the understanding of scientific  composition , explicit our goal, strengthen our technique, and improve scientific level.

        Note: Engineering Investigation started publication in 1973, was jointly hosted by china construction institute’s branch of engineering reconnaissance, is one of the Chinese central journals, and is famous for its publishing technical exchange. The journal contains four major professions of rock-soil and engineering geology, underground water resources and hydrogeology, mapping and geography information engineering and engineering geophysical prospecting. It sets up columns of academic research, engineering technique, technical trends, reconnaissance information, instrument and equipment review, enterprise , experts forum and technique lecture.
