Delegation led by Wang Yanxin, President of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Visiting IDP

On the afternoon of March 8, 2019, Wang Yanxin, president of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Fu Anzhou, vice president of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), visited IDP. President Yao Yunsheng and Vice President Liu Chunping extended a warm welcome to Wang Yanxin and his party. The School Office, Academic Affairs Office, Scientific Research Department, Discipline and Graduate Department, deans of relevant secondary colleges and responsible persons of Comprehensive Disaster Reduction Research Institute attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Yao Yunsheng.

Yao Yunsheng introduced the basic situation of IDP from the general situation, mission, development strategy, disciplines, laboratories and scientific research. He hoped that the two sides could carry out cooperation in talent training, scientific and technological innovation, teaching staff and discipline construction.

Wang Yanxin pointed out that the disciplines of the two sides are highly complementary, and there is a broad space for cooperation. He hoped that the two sides would sign agreements as soon as possible to carry out all-round cooperation in personnel training of earth science, civil science, safety science, psychological science, public management, and the construction of geological disaster training and practice bases. Fu Anzhou introduced the basic situation of China University of Geosciences from the aspects of history, current situation, recent development, scientific research, teaching staff, social service, international exchange and cooperation, and campus culture.

Yao Yunsheng highly agreed with President Wang Yanxin's proposal for cooperation, pointing out that the advanced educational philosophy and school running experience of China University of Geosciences have a strong guiding significance for the construction and development of IDP. He hoped that both sides would carry out practical cooperation and exchange, and required relevant departments of the school to further strengthen research and discussion and promote the cooperation process.

Before the meeting, Wang Yanxin and his party also visited the school's structural engineering experimental center, earthquake monitoring and early warning simulation platform, water environment chemical analysis laboratory and disaster simulation laboratory.
