Delegation Led by Shang Yong, Member of the Leading Party Group and Vice Minister of Emergency Management Department, Visiting IDP on the May 4th Youth Day

On May 4, 2018, Shang Yong, a member of the Party Group and vice minister of the Emergency Management Department, came to IDP to spend the May 4th Youth Day with teachers and students. Yin Chaomin, member of the Party Group and deputy director of the China Seismological Bureau, Sun Xiaojing, director of the Personnel and Education Department of the China Seismological Bureau, and Zhang Yong, deputy director of the Personnel Department (Publicity and Education Office) of the Emergency Management Department, accompanied.

Shang Yong first listened to the report of Qi Furong, Secretary of the School Party Committee, on the construction and development of IDP. He pointed out that the school has an accurate orientation, made remarkable achievements in personnel training, scientific research, social service and characteristic cultural construction, and made positive contributions to the national earthquake prevention and disaster reduction. And he put forward three requirements for the reform and development of the school. First, we must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of the important speech of Peking University, adhere to the correct political orientation of running schools, build high-quality teaching staff, form a high-level talent training system, and educate and guide the young students to assume the historical responsibility of realizing the Chinese Dream. Two, we should thoroughly study General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on emergency management, comprehensively deepen reform, innovate the development mode, adjust discipline and professional direction, strengthen cooperation and exchange with other countries, and promote the connotative development of the school, so as to provide strong intelligence and talent support for the modernization of national emergency management. Third, it is necessary to strengthen the party's construction in an all-round way, adhere to the principle of moral education, give full play to the advantages of the principal responsibility system under the leadership of the Party Committee, improve the management level of the school, and create a good environment for talent development.

During discussions with representatives of young teachers and students of IDP, he listened carefully to the speeches of teachers and students, and shared his experience of learning General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of the important speech of Peking University. He pointed out that the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping is the textbook of talent success and the compass of life's struggle. The vast number of young teachers and students should learn deeply and understand and practice hard, and closely link their ideals of life with the Chinese Dream of Great National Renewal. It is necessary to establish lofty aspirations, to be a fighter, to be a dreamer in the new era; to seek true knowledge, practice real skills, enrich knowledge, increase knowledge, so as to lay a solid foundation for better service to the country and the people; to integrate knowledge with practice, to be a real talent, down-to-earth doer, and contribute to the development of national emergency management.

Shang Yong and his party also visited the disaster emergency response training room, earthquake simulation laboratory, earthquake related public opinion research room, disaster simulation laboratory, metalworking practice base and other training rooms and laboratories.
