Xing Shutao, Bridge Structural Engineer of Virginia Department of Transportation, Giving Academic Report at IDP

On the afternoon of January 10, 2018, Xing Shutao, bridge structural engineer of Department of Transportation of Virginia, USA, was invited to give academic reports entitled "Analysis of Design and Installation of Marine Risers" and "Design and Maintenance of American Bridges". The report was presided over by Mr. Sun Zhiguo, and some teachers and students from the Department of Disaster Prevention Engineering attended the meeting.

At the reports, Dr. Xing Shutao showed the structural design and installation analysis of offshore riser and pipeline project in combination with practical engineering. At the same time, combined with his own experience, Dr. Xing briefly introduced several common new methods of bridge damage monitoring in the United States, and some differences in the bridge design specifications between China and the United States.    The teachers and students had a heated discussion with Dr. Xing Shutao on the topics of interest.
