Provincial Key Laboratory of Earthquake Disaster Prevention and Risk Assessment Approved for Construction

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Hebei Province has announced the list of new provincial key laboratories in 2020, and IDP’s "Key Laboratory of Earthquake Disaster Prevention and Risk Assessment of Hebei Province" was approved.

Relying on the first-class discipline of Civil Engineering (0814), the Lab carries out research on the basic theory and application technology of earthquake prevention and mitigation with three research directions: strong ground motion prediction and site failure mechanism, building earthquake damage mechanism and defense, and seismic disaster risk identification and toughness evaluation.

It is of vital and strategic significance to rapidly enhance the disaster prevention and mitigation ability of Hebei Province and ensure the steady progress of coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province.
