Emergency Team of IDP Going to Epicenter of Songyuan Earthquake

On May 29, 2018, the school emergency working team arrived in Songyuan, gathered at the airport, and then rushed to the epicenter to carry out relevant work. The emergency working team carried out the investigation of sand liquefaction, completed the investigation of 28 liquefaction points, completed two groups of ground pulsation tests, and successfully obtained the strong earthquake records of Songyuan ms3.7 aftershock. During this period, Prof. Bo Jingshan gave an interview with Songyuan City reporters on the Songyuan MS5.7 and ms3.7 earthquakes, and answered questions of public concerns such as "whether there will be a major earthquake", "sand liquefaction", "what measures should be taken at the time of the earthquake" and gave a scientific explanation. He hoped that the public would not panic and not believe in rumors.

The emergency working team will continue to carry out the investigation of sand liquefaction disaster and school buildings of primary and secondary school students, so as to provide scientific basis for earthquake emergency and earthquake relief work in Songyuan City.
