Professor Shen Yuming from Capital Normal University Invited to Give Academic Report at IDP

On the morning of May 11, 2018, Professor Yu Naigong of Beijing University of Technology was invited to give an academic report on "Promoting the Professional Accreditation of Engineering Education in Colleges and Universities". The teachers of measurement and control technology and instrument of Disaster Prevention Instrument Department listened to the report.

At the meeting, Prof. Yu Naigong introduced the standards, application forms and the writing of self-evaluation report of engineering education professional accreditation. Prof. Yu stressed that the standard points out that it is necessary to establish open, school oriented and social and economic development oriented training objectives, track and evaluate students' performance in the whole learning process, and help students complete their career planning in combination with students themselves. Teachers should have sufficient teaching ability, professional level, engineering experience, communication ability and professional skills. In addition, teachers can carry out research on engineering practice problems and participate in academic exchanges; strengthen the construction of basic laboratories to provide complete hardware facilities for teachers' teaching and students' learning. Based on his own experience in writing the self-assessment report, Prof. Yu pointed out that the self-assessment report should clearly describe the orientation of the school, the training objectives of the major and the graduation requirements, and objectively state the teaching strategies, teaching practices, teaching process and improvement implemented to achieve the above-mentioned training objectives and graduation requirements.

After the report, Prof. Yu exchanged ideas with the teachers, which has important guiding significance for the certification preparation of measurement and control specialty.
